BSNL extended the scheme of 'payment of postpaid bills through retailer C-Top Up and e-distributors' up to 31st December 2016 on PAN India basis

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to extend the scheme of 'payment of postpaid bills through retailer C-Top Up by franchisees and E-distributors' for a period up to 31st December 2016 on PAN India basis.

As we reported earlier, BSNL started accepting the payment of postpaid bills of Landline, Broadband, CDMA and WiMax Services through retailer C-Top Up / e-Distributors across India. The scheme is expiring on 30-09-2016.

India's largest landline service provider, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the up-gradation of bandwidth in existing Unlimited Broadband plans 'BBG ULD 545', 'BBG Combo ULD 675' & 'BBG Rural Combo ULD 650' in all the Circles from 1st October 2016 on wards.

As per the latest information, customers in these plans may enjoy up-graded bandwidth of 2 Mbps download speed till 5 GB and 1 Mbps download speed beyond 5 GB. As we reported earlier, the PSU has already announced to revise the high speed download limit from 2 GB to 3 GB from 01-10-2016.

BSNL introduced Free Wi-Fi plan with unlimited data usage - 'BSNL Wi-Fi Free Airport' - for all passengers at Airports on PAN India basis

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has already commissioned public Wi-Fi services in all major Airports in association with Airports Authority of India and M/s Quadgen Wireless Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

As per the latest information, BSNL has decided to launch one new Wi-Fi plan -  'BSNL Wi-Fi Free Airport' - which offers Unlimited Free Data usage for passengers at Airports. However, the PSU has imposed time limit for the unlimited Wi-Fi usage for each individual customers.  Each passenger (having a valid mobile number of any operator) will be allowed unlimited Wi-Fi usage for first 30 minutes once in a month.

BSNL to extend Student Special plan to all existing customers, Prepaid mobile customers in other plans are allowed to change their plan to Student Special

PAN India 3G Service provider, Bharat Sanchar Nigam limited (BSNL) has decided to extend its most popular promotional prepaid mobile plan - Students Special -  to all existing customers.

Currently, BSNL offers Students Special plan exclusive for New and MNP port-in customers. Now, based on the overwhelming response from customers, the PSU has decided to extend the scheme to all existing prepaid mobile customers in all the circles.

BSNL Kerala Telecom circle has announced the extension of its Mela Special Offer of FREE Prepaid SIM cards to New & MNP (PORT IN) customers for 7 days from 24th September to 30th September 2016.

As we reported earlier, BSNL - one of India's largest Public Sector Units has decided to recruit 2510 Graduate Engineers for the post of Junior Telecom Officer (JTO). The PSU will be selecting candidates having a valid Gate Score 2017.

BSNL has decided to launch App based voice calling service which allows its customers to make unlimited free voice calls to any network.

As we reported earlier, the PSU had launched App based VoIP calling services - FMT (Fixed Mobile Telephony) Services allowing customers to make landline calls from mobile phones. However, private operators argued that BSNL's internet based Fixed Mobile Telephony (FMT) Service is against license norms.

BSNL to get Rs 1250 crore subsidy from Government for rural landline connections provided before 1st April 2002

National telecom backbone, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will get Rs 1250 crore subsidy from Government of India for its rural landline services. However, the Cabinet has also decided that no further payments on this account will be provided to the PSU in future.

As per the latest information, Union Cabinet has approved the proposal to extend the subsidy support to BSNL from Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF). The amount is sanctioned as a compensation for the deficit incurred by BSNL in operating the rural landline connections provided before 01-04-2012.
