BSNL's New Mithram Prepaid Mobile Plan & Validity Extension Methods || How to extend the Validity of Old Mithram Plan?

Recently, BSNL Kerala Telecom circle has revised it's most popular prepaid mobile plan - Mithram with More Attractive Fetures like - Always Full Talk Time Facility & Automatic Validity Extension. Customers in Old Mithram Plan may migrate to New Mithram Plan by recharging Rs 49 or by sending sms PLAN MITHRAM to 123.

Those who were enrolled in Old Mithram Plan may verify their plan name and account status by dialling the USSD Short Code *123# from their handsets. While migrating to New Mithram Plan, validity will be limited to a maximum period of 180 days from  the date of recharge.

Mithram plan offers Friends and Family facility to their customers with 5 Local numbers (1 BSNL Number + 4 Any Network Numbers) with a reduced call rate of 20paise / minute (BSNL Network) & 40paise / minute (Other Network). New customers can avail Free Talk Time worth Rs.40 and 180 days initial validity.

Customer may also activate Special Tariff Vouchers (STVs) for SMS / DATA / VOICE / ISD / Blackberry packs as per their requirements in New Mithram Plan.

  1. I have with much difficulty gave up my BSNL broadband due to speed problems after using it for more than eight years. Now there is no BSNL 3G service in my area and authorities told me that there are technical problems. But years after reporting the matter nothing has happened. I live in Kuruvikkad near Vattiyoorkav in TVM. One added facility was carry forward of unused data on a new recharge of data STV on BSNL mobile but that also has been discontinued for me from yesterday. I have decided to move back to my old operator Idea or whoever can give uninterrupted 3G services in my area. I want to support the govt. company but there are no technical improvements from their side and can not wait any longer.

      BSNL Kerala Telecom Circle has not implemented the order to stop data carry forward facility under Prepaid 3G/2G Mobile Services. Dial 0481-2567000 to check your unused data balance.

  2. I was a DEEPAM cutomer and it got automatically changed to MITHRAM plan with a notification that BSNL is discontinuing it. I nees to convert to NEW MITHRAM but after sending the sms code PLAN MITHRAM to 123, i get this message :

    "Tariff Plan change unsuccessful. Kindly contact customer care." Please help

  4. BSNL has now launched a selfacare portal for prepaid customers 'bsnlszprepaid.com'. Instead of availing OTP each time , please allow the customers to keep a permanent password to login .This facility is available now with some other mobile networks such as Vodofone.

  13. I'm new to bsnl mithram plan. When I dial*123# I'm getting my validity as 10/02/2017 and also it is showing Gp1: 25/02/2017 and Gp2: 09/08/2017. Can anyone tell me what this dates meant to???

    1. Grace Period 1 (15 days from expiry), Grace Period 2 (165 days from Grace Period 1). It means your number will be deleted from system - after 180 days validity expiry date.

      The balance amount any in your number will be lost after GP1.
