Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) today announced the revision in the monthly rental charges for FTTH Modem (ONT) to Rs 150/- with effect from 1st July 2021 across all the telecom circles. This charges is applicable to BSNL FTTH (Bharat Fiber) customers who were opted for ONT rental scheme.
At present BSNL is charging Rs 90/- as ONT rental from Bharat Fiber (FTTH) customers who haven’t purchased ONT at the time of installation. As per the latest tariff revision, the revised ONT charges are applicable for customers having rental WiFi ONT from BSNL. Rental for Non-WiFi ONT remain the same. It means, from 1st July 2021, the ONT rental would be Rs 90/- for non-WiFi ONT and it would be Rs 150/- for WiFi ONT.

*Rs. 110/- shall be levied as additional charges to make the Non-WiFi ONT as WiFi.
If ONT is supplied by TIPs/Partners (LCOs/MSOs), 10% administrative charge from above monthly rental charges shall be kept by BSNL. The above instructions shall be implemented with effect from 01-07-2021 in all circles.

How can I upgrade my non-WiFi ONT to WiFi ONT from BSNL?
If you are having a non-WiFi ONT which is in monthly rental scheme from BSNL, you can upgrade it to WiFi ONT by paying additional one time charge of Rs 110/-. Customers can apply for ONT upgradation in nearest BSNL Customer Service Center (BSNL CSC). For WiFi ONT, a monthly rental of Rs 150/- will be charged from 1st July 2021. I have purchased ONT at the time of installaion. Whether this new charge is applicable to me?
No. ONT rental charges are applicable only to those customers opted for ONT rental scheme instead of ONT purchase option at the time of installation.
