    Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the revision in tariff plans for Global Satellite Phone Service (GSPS) for its customers all over India. As per the latest information, BSNL has decided to withdraw two prepaid tariff plans – Remote Area Plans viz RAP 1 & RAP 2 – which were available exclusive Governmental or Government appointed representatives in remote areas.

    In addition, the PSU has also decided to revise prepaid as well as postpaid tariff plans for both Government and Commercial users with effect from 1st April 2021. However, the subsidized DSPT (Digital Satellite Phone Terminal) plan being offered to MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs), Indian Army & BRO (The Boarder Roads Organization) will be continued till further orders from BSNL. The customers who are currently availing the Remote Area Plans RAP-1 / RAP-2 are required to move to general plans i.e., Plan G1 or Plan GA after the expiry of current tariff plan.

    For Prepaid Customers

    It is mandatory to recharge within 7 days after validity expired date of the package subscribed. If the recharge is not done within 7 days after the validity expired date, the following penalty shall be applicable :-

    a) Re-activation charges of Rs. 10000 per terminal on the customers falling under Grace 2 category and customer want to recharge the phone.
    b) Rs. 25000 per terminal on the customers falling under Grace 2E category and customer want to recharge the phone.
    c) If the customer fails to recharge within 365 days of last validity date, the connection will be disconnected and charges of Rs. 45000/- per terminal will be levied as Reconnection charges if the customer wants to recharge after more than 365 days of last validity date. 

    Grace 2 Category: Customer fails to recharge within 7 days after package validity expired date and enters Grace 2 Category. Grace 2 period starts from 8th day of the package validity expired date and continue upto 165th day of the validity expired date.

    Grace 2E Category: Customer fails to recharge within 8 to 165 days after package validity expired date and enters Grace 2E Category. Grace 2E period starts from 166th day of the package validity expired date and continue upto 365th day of the validity expired date.

    For Postpaid Customers
    For the post-paid customers, if payment is not received within 60 days of bill date, the connection will be disconnected and re-connection charges of Rs. 25000/- per connection will be charged from the customer.

    General Terms & Conditions for BSNL Satellite Phone Services (GSPS)

    All the above charges are excusive of GST. All applicable taxes including GST shall be extra as applicable from time to time. Cost of handset is excluding of applicable taxes, license fee, spectrum charges  as applicable. WPC Charges shall be levied from each customer per year per handset and operating license is to be issued to the user. These are the mandatory charges to be deposited to WPC, DoT on yearly basis to renew the operating license. At present, the WPC charges are Rs. 14250/- per handset per year which includes Rs. 250 as License Fee (LF) and Rs. 14000/- as Spectrum Charges (SUC). GST shall be extra on WPC Charges. WPC Charges (License Fee and Spectrum Charges) are to be paid to WPC, DoT on annual basis and these charges will be charged separately as these charges are to be deposited to WPC, DoT. Late payment of WPC charges will attract late fee @2% per month compounded annually on the total spectrum charges due.

    The tariff for calls destined outside India/ to other Inmarsat services/ other Satellite Phones will be worked out separately in consultation with Inmarsat U. K. Presently such calls may be routed through ILD Network of BSNL and additional charges for ILD shall be applicable for International Call charges.

    All entities other than Central government and State Government organization, are categorized as Commercial entity and commercial tariff shall be applicable for such organization.

    For ISD / International Roaming Facility
    The BSNL Inmarsat network has near-global coverage on land or at sea. Your BSNL Inmarsat satellite phone will operate at the standard rates with the Indian territory, and at international call rates outside of the Indian territory. The user has to make a request in writing for activating ISD call facility. The user has to furnish a valid purpose for getting the ISD facility. The Out-roaming facility shall be granted only after approval of MHA. The customer has to obtained permission from MHA for out-roaming facility himself and submit to PGM (Inmarsat), Satellite Building, ALTIC Ghaziabad for further necessary action.

    Cost of Handset (ISAT Phone-2)
    The cost of 1 (one) handset is Rs 90000/- + GST (18%) (HSN Code-80256092). ISAT Phone-2 will be supplied by BSNL to customers on first come first serve basis.
