BSNL launches 'FREEDOM' prepaid mobile plan with 2 year validity and 87% reduction in 3G data tariff

National telecom backbone Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to launch one new promotional prepaid mobile plan - 'FREEDOM PLAN' for its customers in all telecom circles. As per the latest information, BSNL FREEDOM PLAN will be initially available for a period of 90 days from the date of launch.

The main attraction of BSNL FREEDOM PLAN is that, customers enrolled in this plan may enjoy extended validity of 730 days i.e., 2 year validity will be offered with BSNL FREEDOM prepaid mobile plan. Data usage charges of FREEDOM plan is just 40paise per MB which is 87% lesser than the data rate of existing prepaid mobile plans.

MRP of BSNL FREEDOM plan will be Rs 136/- and initial freebies include - 1 GB Free 3G Data (to be consumed within first 30 days) + All Calls (Local/STD) (On-net/Off-net) (Home LSA/National Roaming) @ just 25 paise /min for first 30 days. After 30 days, all calls (voice as well as video calls) will be charged @ just 1.3paise/sec. This plan will be available for both new as well as existing customers of BSNL including MNP Port-In customers.

BSNL FREEDOM plan also comes with a bundle of special combo vouchers which offers Full Talk Value in main account and free data usage. Combo Voucher  178, 377 & 577 are exclusively available for BSNL FREEDOM PLAN. Combo Voucher 178 offers full talk value + 200 MB data, Combo Voucher 377 offers full talk value + 300 MB data and Combo Voucher 577 offers full talk value + 1 GB data.

The PSU has not announced the exact launch date of FREEDOM prepaid mobile plan. The plan will be available as Promotional Offer for 90 days from the date of implementation on PAN India basis. The implementation of the tariff will be made in accordance with 43rd Amendment of Telecom Tariff Order and orders/guidelines/clarifications issued by TRAI from time to time.
