Exclusive: BSNL to withdraw Roam Free STVs and Roaming Tariff Plans in Prepaid & Postpaid from 15th June 2015

National Telecom backbone Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) already announced Free Roaming for it's Prepaid and Postpaid Mobile Customers across India from 15 th June 2015. BSNL is the only operator in India to introduce such an exciting customer friendly offer without considering the decrease in revenue. 


BSNL prepaid and postpaid mobile customers can enjoy Free Roaming anywhere in India without paying anything extra. BSNL has been offering special tariff vouchers (STVs) and Paln Vouchers for Free Roaming to customers in prepaid and postpaid category. With the introduction of Free National Roaming, BSNL has decided to withdraw these Roam Free STVs and Plan Vouchers from 15-06-2015.

BSNL to withdraw Roaming Tariff Plan Voucher RTP 46 for Prepaid Mobile customers from 15-06-2015

RTP 46 is a prepaid plan voucher which offers a validity of 180 days with all roaming incoming calls at a reduced rate of 0.75 Paise/Sec. It also allows customers to make all outgoing calls at 1.3Paise/Sec (Local) & 1.9Paise/Sec (STD) while in national roaming. See details Here.

BSNL to withdraw Roaming Tariff Plan RTP 149 for Postpaid Mobile customers from 15-06-2015

RTP 149 is a postpaid plan with Fixed Monthly Charge of Rs.149/-. It offers unlimited free incoming calls in roaming with 100 Minutes free calls (Local + STD) every month, with all outgoing calls (Local + STD). All outgoing calls will be charged at 80 Paise per Minute. See details Here.

The existing customers of the withdrawn plans will continue to avail the existing tariff till its validity as per TRAI Guidelines and shall be intimated well in advance with regard to the withdrawal of the Plans.

The subscriber may choose any plan from the plans available in the respective circle, however, in case no plan is chosen by the subscriber, “Per Second Plan” under Prepaid Mobile Services and Plan 99 under Postpaid Mobile Services may be assigned and be intimated accordingly.

After the announcement of Free Roaming offer by BSNL, certain doubts and confusions generated among mobile customers about this scheme and it's applicability. To clarify the doubts and confusions among Prepaid and Postpaid Mobile Customers, BSNL has issued clarification regarding it's Free National Roaming Scheme as follows:
