Mobile phone users will soon be able be able to port their numbers from one circle to other while changing their location. It will be a great relief for many mobile customers in India.
As per the information from reliable sources, it was heard that, the Department of Telecommunication (DoT) has set a target date of March 31, 2015 to implement the full mobile number portability (MNP).
At present, mobile subscribers can port their existing number within same service area (telecom circle) using mobile Number Portability (MNP).
It was also reported that, the Telecom Commission has accepted TRAI’s recommendations on full MNP. The panel decision will now be placed before Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad for the final approval.
